The crystallization of <scp>PA11</scp> , <scp>PA12</scp> , and their random copolymers at increasing supercooling: From eutectic segregation to mesomorphic solid solutions

The non-isothermal and isothermal crystallization of polyamide 11 (PA11), 12 (PA12), their random copolymers was studied over the entire temperature range between glass transition high melting point, using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) fast (FSC). DSC FSC thermal behavior translated into structural evolutions, relying on earlier gathered X-ray based information theoretical calculations. At low supercooling, is typical for eutectic systems, involving monomeric segregation separate PA11 PA12 crystals. Depending copolymer composition crystals are 4, 5, or 6 units thick. very sequences cocrystallize mesomorphic solid solutions with isodimorphic characteristics. intermediate heating traces following suggest that involves simultaneous, isokinetic production crystalline patches. In this range, lamellar 3 thick throughout.
